Monday 7th April 2025 - Rediscovering Passion and Priorities

“I follow my heart’s calling and embrace the creativity that fuels my soul.”

After a full day of work and daily responsibilities, I returned home feeling grateful for the simple routines that centre me — like posting an item I’d sold on eBay, then diving into my deep breathing exercises, cold shower, and meditation. These moments of mindfulness have become the steady foundation that helps me stay balanced amidst a busy life.

A Home-Cooked Comfort

Juli treated me to a delicious Spaghetti Bolognese for tea — a warm, comforting meal that nourished both body and spirit. Sharing food made by someone you love is one of life’s little joys, and it reminded me of the importance of savouring those moments of connection.

Reflecting on Refereeing and Creative Passions

Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of soul-searching about where my energy and focus truly belong. I told Juli that I’m really enjoying my creative pursuits once again, and with that renewed spark, I’ve realized I want to step away from refereeing, at least from adult football. If I continue, it will only be with youth matches — where my passion to inspire can shine in a different way.

Refereeing has brought many great moments, but there are elements that don’t feel right for me anymore. My heart is with creating content that makes a difference, inspiring others through my work and my voice. This is where my dreams lie.

Community and Commitment

Despite these feelings, I stayed committed and attended the Hartlepool Referees meeting in the evening. It’s important to honour past responsibilities even as new chapters begin.

Later, I shifted back to my creative world — posting new content on the Home Harmony Project, practicing my Freemasons lines for Wednesday’s gathering, and catching up on blog posts to keep the momentum going for April.

What I Learned Today

  • It’s okay to reassess and realign your passions as life evolves.

  • Mindfulness routines like breathing and meditation help keep clarity.

  • Nourishing relationships with loved ones enhances creativity and motivation.

  • Staying true to your dream means sometimes letting go of things that no longer serve you.

Monday was a day of clarity and intention. I felt the gentle but powerful shift within me — from past commitments towards a future fueled by creativity and purpose. Though I still honour my responsibilities, I am ready to embrace the parts of life that truly light me up.

With steady mindfulness and the support of those around me, I move forward with confidence and gratitude.
