"Every step I take brings me closer to my goals. I trust in my journey and embrace the progress I am making."
Hello all.
Gratitude is the key to growth, and today I am feeling incredibly grateful for the clarity that has come with refining my daily routine. After reflecting on my energy levels and creative flow, I’ve decided to shift my breathing exercises, cold shower, and meditation to the evening—right after work. This way, I can fully immerse myself in my personal projects without using up mental energy in the morning on work-related tasks that I can’t discuss. This small change has already made a big difference, and I’m excited to see where it leads!
A New Start to the Day
The morning started with my usual household tasks and preparation for the day ahead. However, instead of cycling, I drove to work since I had some shopping to do afterward—carrying a full shopping bag while cycling isn’t exactly ideal!
Work was productive, and once the day wrapped up, I headed to a local supermarket to pick up self-care and cleaning essentials—new razor blades, toothpaste, shampoo, mouthwash, kitchen sponges, and white vinegar. Keeping myself and my home clean and comfortable is an essential part of my mental and physical well-being.
Breathwork, Cold Shower & Meditation – My Evening Reset
Once I arrived home, I dove straight into my new routine. I began with my Wim Hof breathing exercises, embracing each inhale and exhale with intention. I then took a refreshing cold shower, letting the icy water wake up every cell in my body. Finally, I sat at my desk, closed my eyes, and spent 15 minutes in deep meditation, focusing solely on my breath.
The result? Peace of mind, clarity, and an overwhelming sense of motivation. I felt ready to take on my creative projects with a clear head and enthusiasm for the work ahead.
Fuelling My Creativity & Content Creation
Juli had prepared a delicious chicken and vegetable dinner, which was exactly what I needed to refuel and prepare for a productive evening. After enjoying the meal, I jumped straight into my content creation work:
✅ TownHost Blog Update – I published a new beginner’s guide on how to use Google Analytics. A crucial tool for website owners, this guide breaks down the basics of understanding visitor data and optimizing website performance. Read it here.
✅ Home Harmony Project Content – This week, I focused on a practical home organization skill: folding clothes properly. Inspired by Marie Kondo, I created a step-by-step article and an accompanying video to demonstrate the method. Check it out here.
Creating this content took a couple of hours, but I loved every second of it. It’s fulfilling to produce valuable content that helps people live more organized, stress-free lives.
Balancing Work & Family Time
As much as I love my creative projects, family time is equally important. After wrapping up my content work, Fearne arrived home from dancing, and we spent time together watching The Floor is Lava on Netflix with Juli.
Being present in these small moments is something I cherish deeply. These moments may seem ordinary, but they are the ones that create lasting memories.
Helping Others – A Long-Standing Project Comes to an End
After our family time, I returned to my laptop to respond to some emails. One particular email stood out—an LGBTQ charity database I built 16 years ago was no longer supported due to PHP 7.2 becoming obsolete.
The charity wasn’t using it frequently, so they decided to retire it. To help them preserve their data, I exported everything into organized spreadsheets for them.
I also offered to build them a new, modern system if they ever needed it, but it would take some time around my other commitments. Whether they choose to move forward with a new system or not, I am grateful to have supported them for 16 years. Knowing that my work has made a difference in their operations is something I hold close to my heart.
The Final Tasks & Looking Ahead
Before winding down for the night, I:
✔ Answered a few more emails
✔ Tidied up the house
✔ Read a magazine for 30 minutes
It was a desk-heavy day, but one filled with purpose, productivity, and progress.
Goals for the Future
I still haven’t been accepted into Google AdSense for my blog and the Home Harmony Project, but I’m not discouraged. My plan is to increase traffic through my UK Residents network and continue creating valuable content.
I truly believe that my content holds value, and with persistence, I will find the right audience and reach new heights.
Final Thoughts
This small shift in my routine has already proven to be a game-changer. I feel more aligned with my creative energy, and my evenings are now filled with purposeful work that excites me.
With new content published, projects moving forward, and plans to boost my website traffic, I feel motivated and ready for the next chapter.
I hope my journey inspires you to find ways to align your time with your passions. Change doesn’t have to be drastic—it’s often the small adjustments that make the biggest impact.
Here’s to another productive and fulfilling day ahead! 🚀
