Wednesday 26th March 2025 - A Day of Mindfulness, Productivity, and Connection

Hello all.

Each day presents a new opportunity to grow, improve, and stay on the path of self-discipline and positivity. Today was a perfect blend of mindfulness, productivity, and quality time with family.

One of the most rewarding aspects of sticking to a routine is seeing the long-term benefits unfold. Whether it’s my morning breathing exercises, personal development projects, or moments of connection with loved ones, every effort I put in contributes to my overall well-being.

Starting the Day Right: Control and Clarity

As usual, I began my morning with the Wim Hof deep breathing exercises, a cold shower, and 15 minutes of meditation. This practice has truly transformed my ability to stay centred and in control throughout the day.

One of the most profound realizations I’ve had is that through focused breathing and mindfulness, I can directly influence my body’s responses—even my eczema. By keeping my nervous system balanced, I am able to reduce discomfort, prevent flare-ups, and stay in control of my physical well-being.

After my morning practice, I took the time to tidy the house before heading off on my daily cycle to work. There’s something incredibly refreshing about starting the day with both mental clarity and a clean space.

A Productive Workday, Followed by Self-Development

After another fulfilling day at work, I cycled back home, feeling motivated and ready to dive into a personal project that has been on my mind for some time.

Tonight, I dedicated my free time to creating an automated spreadsheet that will make my work far more organized and efficient.

I wanted a system that could:
Track financial projections
Log meetings attended and organize notes
Identify and flag changes in important data
Automatically update related sheets when the main data changes

This was a technical challenge I fully embraced! Using a combination of:
🔹 VLOOKUP formulas
🔹 IF statements
🔹 MATCH formulas

I was able to automate many of the calculations and processes that were previously time-consuming. This kind of work is right in my element—logical, structured, and rewarding.

It’s amazing to think about how simple automation can streamline work and free up time for more creative or strategic tasks. This is something I will be using daily moving forward!

A Fun and Relaxing Evening with Fearne

The second half of my evening was all about quality time with Fearne.

Since Juli was out at the Sunderland Empire with the other mums from Fearne’s dance group, watching a Tina Turner performance, it was just me and Fearne for the night.

We made the most of our time together with:
🎶 Plenty of dancing—music is always a great way to bond and stay active!
🍽️ A fun dinner together—good food always makes for great company.
📺 Catching up on ‘Sort Your Life Out’ and ‘The Repair Shop’ on BBC iPlayer—a nice mix of home organization and craftsmanship!

Eventually, Fearne drifted off to sleep, happy and relaxed. It’s always fulfilling to spend quality one-on-one time with family, especially in the simple moments that strengthen bonds and create memories.

Ending the Day on a Positive Note

When Juli returned home, I could tell she was still buzzing from the excitement of the show. Rather than jumping into conversation right away, I chose to give her some space to unwind by staying downstairs for an extra hour.

I spent this time watching motivational videos on YouTube, reinforcing the positive mindset I’ve been nurturing. Learning from successful and inspiring figures is one of my favorite ways to stay focused on self-improvement.

Eventually, I headed upstairs feeling:
✔️ Accomplished from my productive work
✔️ Grateful for time spent with family
✔️ Motivated to keep pushing forward

Reflections on the Day

Today was a perfect balance of:
Morning mindfulness and breathwork
A productive workday followed by self-development
Fun, bonding, and relaxation with family
A moment of self-reflection and inspiration before bed

This is exactly the kind of life balance I want to maintain—one where I am continuously growing, while also taking time to enjoy the present moment.

Gratitude for Today

I am grateful for:

🙏 The ability to control my body through mindfulness and breathing.
🚴 The freedom and energy that cycling brings me every day.
📊 My ability to develop automated tools that improve my productivity.
👨‍👧 Quality time with Fearne, filled with laughter, dancing, and great TV.
🎭 Juli getting the chance to enjoy a fantastic night out with friends.

Gratitude is a powerful force, and reflecting on what I appreciate each day only reinforces my sense of happiness and fulfillment.
