Tuesday 18th March 2025 - Finding Fulfillment in Every Task: A Day of Gratitude and Growth

"I am capable, valued, and making a difference. My skills and efforts bring positive change to the people around me."

Hello all.

I began my day at 6 AM, but if I’m being honest, I did let myself drift back to sleep for an extra 15 minutes. And you know what? That’s okay. Rest is just as important as productivity, and I still had plenty of time to complete my Wim Hof breathing routine, cold shower, and morning meditation. These rituals have become the foundation of my mornings, ensuring that I start the day feeling energized, focused, and ready for anything.

Starting the Day with Purpose

After getting the house sorted and dressed for the day, I drove to work instead of cycling—a small change in my routine, but necessary since I had a few things to collect from work as well as deliveries to pick up later. Flexibility is key when balancing different responsibilities.

Once I arrived at work, the first task of the day was to continue helping the children with their Stations of the Cross project. Our Year 3 teacher, who is in my station group, had spent the weekend with their father creating a beautiful wooden representation of Station 15. They brought in the various wooden pieces today, and the children were excited to start painting them.

Watching them engage in this creative process, seeing their enthusiasm, and witnessing the pride they took in their work reminded me why I love my job so much. There’s something truly fulfilling about guiding young minds in their learning and creativity.

Tech Support, Teaching, and Keeping Things Running

With the morning art session complete, I turned my attention to setting up 30 laptops for our Year 1 class. Today, the children were learning how to type and correct mistakes in Microsoft Word. Since they’re still too young to log in with usernames and passwords on their own, I took the time to log them in manually before the lesson. It’s a small step, but it ensures that their lesson runs smoothly without any disruptions or delays.

From there, my morning shifted into admin work, assisting with various digital tasks for other Stations of the Cross groups, and ensuring all IT systems—both at the school and the Teaching School Hub—were functioning without issue.

A Conversation with the Trust’s IT Team

The afternoon brought an important meeting with the IT team from the School Trust. Their primary objective was to discuss how the Teaching School Hub could be integrated into the Trust’s larger IT network—a technical challenge that will require careful planning and coordination.

The role I have isn’t just a job—it’s an opportunity to shape the future of local schools and support the next generation of educators.

One of the most rewarding moments of the day was learning that the Teaching School Hub has brought in over £1 million into the Trust over the past four years, and that I played an integral role in making that happen. That’s something to be incredibly proud of.

A Productive Evening and Time to Unwind

After work, I drove to pick up a package—an iPad screen I’ll be repairing in the next few days. I also collected some bio washing powder since we had run out. I appreciate moments like these—small, everyday tasks that keep life running smoothly.

Once I got home, I took some time to relax and watch the final episode of Uncanny on BBC iPlayer—a fascinating and eerie documentary series that I’ve been enjoying. Then, I spent some quality time with Juli and Fearne as we watched Sort Your Life Out together.

The evening ended with a warm, relaxing bath—a much-needed moment of self-care before catching up on a few blog posts I had yet to publish.

A Day of Reflection and Gratitude

Looking back, today was a great reminder of how fulfilling my work truly is. It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind, but when you take a moment to reflect, you start to see the bigger picture.

I’m grateful for my ability to solve problems, help others, and contribute in a meaningful way. I’m grateful for the people I work with, the children I support, and the opportunities I have to use my skills to make a difference.

And most of all, I’m grateful for the life I’m building—one that balances work, creativity, and personal fulfillment.

Final Thoughts

Today was filled with small but meaningful victories. It reaffirmed my passion for my work, challenged me to reflect on my career path, and ended with much-needed relaxation. If there’s one lesson to take away, it’s this: never underestimate the impact of the work you do.
