Tuesday 11th March 2025 - A Day of Productivity, Problem-Solving, and Progress

"Every challenge is an opportunity for growth. I embrace each day with clarity, purpose, and gratitude."

Hello all.

Some days feel like a steady flow of small victories, and today was exactly that. From refining my morning routine to tackling technical challenges at work, and even making progress on my personal projects, it was a day of focus, creativity, and achievement.

A Refreshing Start: Wim Hof Breathing & Cold Showers

I’ve recently started waking up at 6:00 AM to practice Wim Hof breathing, followed by a cold shower—and the results are already noticeable.

✔️ Increased mental clarity
✔️ Improved focus
✔️ A greater sense of control over my body and mind

The cold exposure isn’t just about discipline; it’s about resilience. I can feel myself adapting and even looking forward to the invigorating shock in the morning. If I keep this up, I know the long-term benefits will be fantastic.

After my morning routine, I got Fearne ready for school, then headed off to work, ready to tackle the day ahead.

Stations of the Cross: A Meaningful Project

At work, we continued developing our Stations of the Cross project, a significant initiative as part of our Lenten reflections.

We spent 15 minutes discussing the next steps for our station’s creation, ensuring that every detail aligns with the spiritual and artistic vision we’re working towards. What’s unique about our station is that it doesn’t currently exist—meaning I’ll be carving it out of wood myself before handing it over to the children for painting and decoration.

This project is more than just an art installation—it’s a deeply meaningful expression of faith and creativity.

Tech Troubleshooting: Fixing a Printer That Refused to Print

One of the unexpected challenges of the day was dealing with the Nursery printer, which had suddenly stopped printing.

🖨️ It wasn’t displaying an error message
🖨️ It wasn’t allowing any print jobs through

After some investigative work, I discovered that the printer had run out of ink but failed to notify anyone. Even more frustratingly, it had a default setting to cancel any print job if it couldn’t be completed.

As soon as I replaced the ink, the printer was back in action. I also went into the settings and disabled the print cancellation feature, preventing future confusion. A small fix, but one that will save a lot of hassle going forward.

Tech Reports & Communications: Keeping Everything Running Smoothly

With the printer issue sorted, I turned my attention to writing a report on our IT systems in the Teaching School Hub. I’m happy to say that our equipment is working fantastically, which is always a relief when managing multiple tech resources.

Then, I moved on to a mass email mail merge to notify induction tutors about the upcoming batch of early career teacher reports.

Mail merge allows me to personalize each email while keeping the process efficient
It ensures everyone gets the information they need in a clear and structured way
It saves time while still maintaining a personal touch

This is one of those small workflow optimizations that makes a huge difference when dealing with large-scale communication.

Cross-Checking Records & Finance Management

In the afternoon, I turned my attention to administrative tasks:

📋 Cross-checking records of early career teacher starters
💷 Updating financial spreadsheets to ensure schools are correctly invoiced

This part of my role may not be the most exciting, but it’s essential to keep everything organized and running smoothly. I always find that if I stay on top of these tasks, it prevents unnecessary stress later on.

Once everything was updated, I spent the rest of the workday catching up on emails and supporting colleagues with various tech issues.

Evening Productivity: Writing & Website Development

After work, I carved out time for my content creation projects, ensuring I stayed on track with my writing goals.

📖 For TownHost, I wrote an article on 10 common mistakes businesses make when setting up their website.
🏠 For The Home Harmony Project, I focused on the importance of a monthly cleaning schedule and how it helps keep overlooked areas tidy.

But the most exciting development? I’ve decided to launch a new website for the UK Residents Project.

Currently, the project is limited to social media, but I want to expand its reach so that even those who don’t use platforms like Facebook can get involved.

🌍 A website will give the project a broader audience
📢 It allows for better content organization and engagement
🤝 It creates a central hub for updates, events, and resources

I’m excited about this next step and how it will contribute to building a stronger community.

Ending the Day with Relaxation & Family Time

The evening was about winding down, but not before a few last responsibilities:

🚗 Collected Fearne from her dance class
🛁 Had a bath and shave, preparing for my Freemasons meeting tomorrow
📧 Checked a few final emails
📺 Watched ‘Sort Your Life Out’ on BBC iPlayer, then switched to Amazon Prime for the Champions League football match

There’s something satisfying about ending the day feeling accomplished, knowing that I made progress in multiple areas of my life while still making time for family and relaxation.
