Saturday 22nd March 2025 - A Peaceful Day of Productivity and Reflection

“I am grateful for the peaceful moments I create and the fulfilling tasks I accomplish. Each day, I move closer to my goals, embracing the journey with gratitude and intention.”

Hello all.

Today turned out to be unexpectedly delightful. Both Juli and Fearne were away at dance competitions for the day, leaving me with a rare full day to myself. I woke up at 8 AM, ready to embrace the day with intention. Starting the morning with my usual Wim Hof deep breathing, a refreshing 3-minute cold shower, and 20 minutes of silent meditation, I set the tone for the day. I’ve been using these techniques to help manage my eczema, which has been causing discomfort around my groin area. After about a week of incorporating this practice, I’m already noticing a sense of calm that I’ve never experienced before. As I move into the second week, I’m hopeful that I’ll begin to see some tangible improvement with my skin condition.

Productive Creativity: Designing the Hartlepool Headland Parish Council Logo

Once I had my mind clear and my body relaxed, it was time to focus on my big task of the day: designing a modern logo for the Hartlepool Headland Parish Council. Over the last couple of weeks, I had been sketching, brainstorming, and seeking inspiration in my spare time. Today, I sat down with my computer and opened up Inkscape, the free vector drawing software, ready to bring my design to life.

After several hours of drawing, tweaking, and adjusting colors, I finally created the logo I had envisioned. The process of moving from an abstract idea to a polished design was both challenging and rewarding. There’s something incredibly satisfying about transforming a concept into a tangible product, and I’m genuinely proud of what I’ve accomplished. I plan to send the final design to the Parish Council on Monday, and I’m hopeful they’ll love it as much as I do.

Breathing and Meditation: A Deeper Connection

With the logo completed, I decided to take advantage of the empty house and dive deeper into my breathwork and meditation practices. Normally, I do 4 rounds of deep breathing in the morning, but with no distractions today, I extended the session to 10 rounds. Afterward, I spent a peaceful 30 minutes meditating. I can’t stress enough how this time for quiet reflection nourishes my mind and body. The deep sense of peace I felt afterward was so profound that getting out of bed afterward was a bit of a struggle—I felt so comfortable in that serene state.

Troubleshooting and Fixing a Laptop Screen

After such a rejuvenating break, I moved on to my next task: repairing a Lenovo laptop. The job at hand was to replace the cracked screen, which required opening up the laptop and carefully replacing the damaged parts. I started by unscrewing the bottom casing, gaining access to the internal components. After that, I detached the hinges and bezel holding the screen in place. To my surprise, I found that the frame around the screen was also cracked—likely due to the laptop being dropped.

I proceeded carefully to remove the broken screen and replaced it with a brand new one. Reassembling the laptop took a bit longer than expected. I struggled with getting the bezel back in place, and after a moment of confusion, I realized I had missed a corner clip during reassembly, which caused the bezel to not fit correctly. Once I fixed this small mistake, I reassembled the laptop and powered it on—success! The new screen worked perfectly, and I felt a great sense of accomplishment from the repair.

A Relaxing Evening of Snooker and Family Time

With the laptop fixed, I spent the remainder of the afternoon relaxing, waiting for Juli and Fearne to return. I indulged in watching the Formula 1 qualifying highlights for the China GP, and a snooker match between Judd Trump and John Higgins, which was incredibly competitive and went on for hours. I’m always amazed by the precision and mental focus snooker requires, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Juli and Fearne returned just before 9 PM. Fearne was already asleep, but I had missed her throughout the day. Juli got herself ready for another busy day tomorrow, while I took Fearne upstairs to bed. I then returned to the snooker match to watch its thrilling conclusion. Finally, after a satisfying day, I headed to bed myself, ready to rest up for whatever tomorrow brings.

Gratitude for the Day

Reflecting on the day, I’m filled with gratitude. I had the opportunity to be productive, creative, and present with myself. It’s rare to have a full day to focus on personal tasks, and I’m grateful that I took full advantage of it. Managing my eczema with breathing and meditation, creating a meaningful design, and fixing a laptop all felt incredibly rewarding. But above all, I’m thankful for the quiet moments of peace, the joy of accomplishment, and the love I feel when Juli and Fearne return home.
