"I approach challenges with a calm and confident mindset, finding solutions and embracing creativity in all that I do."
Hello all.
Gratitude for a Purposeful Day
Some days seem to fly by in a blur of problem-solving, creativity, and productivity, and today was one of those days. From the moment I woke up at 6 AM, I was in a strong, focused mindset, thanks to an energizing morning routine.
I started the day with Wim Hof deep breathing, a cold shower, and a 10-minute meditation, setting the tone for a day full of clarity and composure. Cycling to work gave me an extra boost of energy, and I arrived feeling invigorated and ready for anything—which was just as well, because as soon as I stepped in, I was immediately met with technical issues that needed solving.
The school’s phone system was down, and the printer wasn’t working, leading to understandable panic among staff. But rather than getting caught up in the chaos, I stayed calm and got straight to work, diagnosing and fixing both problems quickly.
Later in the day, I had the chance to flex my creative muscles by helping various groups with their Stations of the Cross projects. This was a particularly rewarding part of the day, as I got to support students and teachers by using my design skills to bring their ideas to life. One of the most symbolic images I worked on involved replacing Jesus on the cross with a golden light, a powerful representation of hope and resurrection.
Back at home, I kept up the momentum by assembling my new bike rack, optimizing my space, and even cooking homemade Chicken Kiev's for dinner—a meal that was thoroughly enjoyed by the whole household.
It was a busy, fulfilling day, and I’m grateful for every moment of it.
Morning: A Powerful Start to the Day
Waking up at 6 AM, I wasted no time in diving into my morning routine, which has become a crucial part of my physical and mental well-being.
✔ Wim Hof Deep Breathing – Helping me feel energized, focused, and ready for the day.
✔ Cold Shower – A quick shock to the system that left me feeling awake and refreshed.
✔ 10-Minute Meditation – A chance to find inner calm and set positive intentions for the day ahead.
By the time I finished my morning practice, I felt unstoppable. I hopped on my bike and cycled to work, enjoying the fresh air and movement before the workday began.
A Morning of Problem-Solving at Work
The moment I walked into work, I was greeted by a wave of tech problems—the phone lines were down, and the printer wasn’t working. Naturally, staff were worried, but I kept my cool and got straight to work.
Fixing the Phone System
📞 Issue: The phone lines were unresponsive.
🔍 Solution: After a quick check, I discovered that the system had undergone a firmware update overnight, which caused it to stall. A simple reboot was all it needed!
Fixing the Printer
🖨 Issue: The Kyocera printer was displaying an F error and refusing to print.
🔧 Solution: An F error on a Kyocera printer usually means that a print job has failed, causing a queue jam. By clearing the print queue and restarting the printer, I was able to get it back up and running in no time!
This was a classic example of how people tend to panic when technology fails, but with a calm and methodical approach, most problems can be solved quickly and easily.
Creativity and Collaboration: Stations of the Cross Project
After dealing with the technical issues, I had the opportunity to work with students and teachers on their Stations of the Cross projects.
🎶 Choosing a Hymn – Our group picked a meaningful hymn to accompany our PowerPoint presentation, adding an emotional and spiritual layer to our work.
📷 Selecting Images – The children carefully chose beautiful and thought-provoking images to illustrate Jesus speaking to his disciples and the crowds.
💻 Designing Visuals – Since I was the "tech person", several groups asked me to create digital artwork for their projects.
One of the most powerful images I worked on involved removing Jesus from the cross and replacing Him with radiant golden light. This visually represented the idea that His sacrifice transformed into hope, faith, and eternal life.
It was deeply rewarding to contribute to these projects and help bring the students’ visions to life.
Afternoon: Keeping Things Running Smoothly
The rest of my workday involved:
📧 Catching up on emails
📞 Answering calls
💻 Managing computer systems
🛠 Helping with various tech requests
It was one of those days where I felt like I was constantly in motion, making sure everything was ticking over smoothly. But there’s a real sense of satisfaction in knowing that you’ve played a part in keeping things running efficiently.
Evening: Home Improvements and a Delicious Meal
After work, I channelled my problem-solving energy into a small home improvement project—assembling my new bike rack.
🚲 Why? My bike was taking up too much space, and this vertical rack allows it to be stored upright, making better use of floor space.
📍 Current Placement: In the back room next to the dining table.
🔜 Future Plan: I’ll eventually move it upstairs to my office for a more permanent solution.
After completing that, I even cooked dinner—delicious homemade Chicken Kievs. It was a hit with the family, and I enjoyed the sense of accomplishment that comes from making a good meal from scratch.
Gratitude for the Day
Today, I am grateful for:
✔ A strong morning routine that set the tone for the day.

✔ A delicious home-cooked meal shared with family.
