"Every small step I take creates a ripple effect of positive change."
Hello all.
Another fantastic half-term day filled with meaningful moments, creativity, and small but satisfying victories!
The day began with a productive start—posting three pairs of Levi’s jeans that had sold via eBay Boosters. It’s always a great feeling when things move along successfully! However, the weather wasn’t quite as cooperative. A fine mist of rain lingered in the air, the kind that soaks you through before you even realize it. So, today would be an indoors kind of day for Fearne and me.
Fearne enjoyed some tablet time, while I sat beside her updating my latest blog post across social media. I also started a conversation in the UK Residents group, asking people to share their thoughts on the best areas to live in. The engagement was incredible! It was fulfilling to see so many people getting involved and helping each other. One comment particularly stood out—someone in the Hartlepool Residents group used the discussion to plan a dog walk without worrying about parking fees or fines. These are the little wins I love—facilitating meaningful conversations that help people make the most out of life.
By lunchtime, it was time for Fearne’s gymnastics session. Since the rain was still coming down heavily, we drove there, and I watched her cartwheeling, flipping, and stretching with her friends for an hour. She gave it her all and was completely exhausted afterward—the sign of a great session! Back home, she refueled with some homemade soup that Juli had prepared the day before.
The afternoon was all about relaxation and creativity. We sat together, drawing and doodling, with the TV on in the background for some light noise. It was such a peaceful, cosy time, and eventually, Fearne even drifted off for a half-hour nap—a rare but welcome moment of quiet!
I used that time to be productive, updating the TownHost website with a special promotional code for a discount on business website orders. After that, I slipped into an old habit—watching TV, with one eye still on the lively conversation I had sparked in the UK Residents group. It wasn’t the most productive use of time, but it was nice to unwind for a bit.
Later in the evening, I focused on Home Harmony Project, publishing the weekly cleaning schedule to help others stay on top of household organization. Once that was shared across my platforms, it was time to pick up Fearne from her dance lesson, which Juli had kindly dropped her off at earlier.
The day wrapped up with some intentional, feel-good habits—watching The Repair Shop on BBC iPlayer, keeping up with the 9 PM tidy-up routine with Fearne, listing another item on eBay, and checking in on any outstanding emails.
One of today’s biggest highlights? I’m officially set to start helping the Hartlepool Headland Parish Council with their online presence! I’ll be building their website over the next few days and plan to document the process. Filming my progress will be a great motivator and a way to reflect on the impact of the work I do.
It’s been a wonderfully balanced day—a little work, a little creativity, some relaxation, and plenty of small but meaningful achievements. Every step forward is a step in the right direction!
