"Even in the most tedious tasks, I find progress, growth, and purpose."
Hello all.
Today was a day of persistence and patience, filled with tedious cross-checking, but also small wins and forward momentum.
The morning started on a positive note, as I began my day with Wim Hof breathing exercises and a cycle to work—a great way to wake up my body and mind. Upon arriving at work, I was relieved to see that the taskbar issue on all school laptops had been fixed overnight. There were still a couple of lingering cases, but the majority of users were back up and running. It was a good feeling to start the day with a problem solved!
Buoyed by this success, I reached out to the IT team at our School Trust to tackle another major issue—Microsoft Teams only allowing 15 laptops to work at once across the building. After some investigation, it looks like our school firewall might be limiting access to shared resources. I explained the situation, and fingers crossed, they’ll be able to resolve it soon.
Then came the tedious but necessary job of cross-checking teacher registrations. My task was to find any teachers at the Teaching School Hub who had changed their name in the last two years and contact them to update their details on the DfE online gateway. While it wasn’t the most exciting job, it’s one of those small but crucial tasks that ensures everything runs smoothly when they qualify.
Thankfully, there was a bit of normality in my day as well—I had laptops to prepare for our Year 4 class. The teacher has finally returned, so for now, my unexpected teaching duties are behind me—hopefully for a while!
By the time I got home, I was able to catch up on blog updates, finish the latest Home Harmony Project content, list an item for sale on eBay, and update my LinkedIn profile—all in preparation for the TownHost launch. A productive end to the day!
