Thursday 6th February 2025 - A Significant Step Forward

Hello all.

Today marked an important milestone as I officially finished setting up the social media channels for TownHost! With everything in place, I can finally focus on promoting my web development services. It feels like a big step forward, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.

At work, I spent a couple of hours refining the Data Fix files, ensuring that all names were correct and that every formula in the spreadsheets worked as expected. It was a tedious but necessary task, and I was glad to get it done.

I also resolved an issue with two desktop computers that hadn’t received the correct settings after the recent system tray glitch. This required manually resetting and rebuilding the operating system, but I’m delighted to report that after my fixes, every computer in the school is now running smoothly again!

Beyond that, I had a few administrative tasks to complete, including recording payments, setting up new accounts for staff who had changed their names, and designing posters to politely remind people not to enter a designated quiet room for staff.

The day ended with my weekly Trust IT Meeting, where I raised an important point—I don’t want to just report issues; I want to be actively involved in fixing them. I enjoy problem-solving and making a direct impact, and I don’t feel useful when I’m side-lined. The team acknowledged this, and they’ve committed to ensuring I’m more involved in technical fixes going forward. That was a small but meaningful win.

After a productive day, I returned home to publish the next set of updates on The Home Harmony Project, post my latest blog entry, and package an item I sold on eBay. A full and rewarding day!
