“I am adaptable and resourceful, turning challenges into opportunities for growth and progress.”
Hello all.
Yesterday was a day filled with challenges and opportunities for growth, and I’m grateful for the progress I made, even in the face of minor setbacks.
The day started earlier than usual as Juli was at work early, so I took Fearne to school. On the way, I dropped off two parcels at the post office – more items sold through eBay Boosters. Every little bit of space freed up in my office feels like a win, and it motivates me to keep decluttering.
After dropping Fearne off, I headed to work, only to realize I had forgotten my laptop at home. A quick drive back solved the issue, and thankfully, nothing urgent was missed. By 10 AM, I was officially back on track.
The focus for the day was streamlining processes for the Teaching School Hub in light of anticipated changes from the DfE. Conversations over the past few days made it clear that a bespoke database was the way forward. I decided to abandon the WordPress version I’d been working on and instead create a custom-built solution tailored to our needs.
It was incredibly satisfying to spend the day setting up the server, hosting, and building the initial framework. By the end of the day, I had functional login and registration pages, secure admin access, and user dashboards ready. The progress felt fantastic, and it was a reminder of how rewarding focused work can be.
In the afternoon, my attention shifted to three important tasks:
- Managing another Appropriate Body briefing for new ECTs.
- Leading a teacher meeting to demonstrate how to set Assignments on Microsoft Teams.
- Migrating the Artrium Art Gallery in Hartlepool to Microsoft 365 for their emails and cloud storage.
Everything went smoothly, and I felt a sense of accomplishment knowing these setups would benefit others.
Back at home, I published my latest blog post and wrote an insightful article for the Home Harmony Project on the benefits of tackling important tasks first thing in the day – a strategy that’s worked wonders for me.
Before the evening ended, I listed a few more computer components for sale on eBay and then relaxed with Champions League highlights on BBC iPlayer. Although I didn’t get around to practicing my Freemasons Charge of Initiation, I’m committed to picking it up again tomorrow.
It was a productive, problem-solving kind of day, and I’m thankful for the chance to move forward on so many fronts.
Over on the Home Harmony Project
