Tuesday 28th January 2025 - A Day of Productivity and Progress

"I approach each day with purpose and determination, knowing that every effort I make contributes to growth and progress."

Hello all.

Today was a day of efficiency, problem-solving, and rewarding moments, both at work and within my Masonic commitments.

The day started smoothly, and I was back to my normal routine. At work, I set up the next round of online tests for our Year 5 class. I also received the completed written tests from Year 2 and spent time ensuring each test was correctly labelled with the school name and student details—an important but meticulous task.

Next, I was handed a Samsung tablet to unlock and test. After a quick charge, I was able to power it on and verify that it was in good condition for use. It’s always satisfying when technology cooperates so easily!

One of my more complex tasks of the day was organizing the Appropriate Body Quality Assurance visits. This involved checking our records to determine which schools needed visits, then coordinating the visits among different assessors. I used logical planning and even incorporated some Excel formulas for mileage calculations to make the scheduling more efficient. It was a great exercise in problem-solving, and I was pleased with how smoothly it came together.

Before the school day ended, I had one last big responsibility—teaching a coding lesson to our Year 4 class. We focused on repeated patterns in code, creating procedures, and drawing repeated shapes to form patterns. The students were fully engaged, and it was fantastic to see their excitement as they experimented with coding concepts. It was the perfect way to wrap up my school day.

After work, I attended the Hartlepool Masonic Benevolence Association Committee Meeting and AGM. As Secretary, I arrived early to prepare all the necessary paperwork. The meeting was well-attended, and my contributions—including minute-taking and planning—were well received. I also had the opportunity to discuss the future of the charity, sharing our plans to launch a dedicated website by next year’s AGM. I was honoured to be reappointed as Secretary and was delighted to welcome a new Treasurer to the team.

Once I got home, I settled down with Juli to watch the penultimate episode of Black Doves on Netflix—something we’ve been enjoying together. To round off the night, I caught up on my blog, updated the Home Harmony Project, and quickly set up the Facebook page for TownHost, ensuring another productive day ended on a high note.

Over at the Home Harmony Project, I continued my philosophy of encouraging breaks throughout the day, and explain how we try to do it at home - https://www.homeharmonyproject.com/from-my-home-to-yours/how-we-fit-breaks-into-a-busy-day-at-home/.
