"Every step I take today lays the foundation for a smoother, brighter tomorrow."
Hello all.
Today was another productive day, even with a later-than-usual start at work. I spent the early part of the morning tackling some essential household tasks before arriving at the office shortly after 9:00 AM.
At work, I made great strides by organizing a phone system upgrade. The installation of a new fibre optic line is scheduled for tomorrow, and I’m excited about the boost this will bring to our systems. I also delivered laptops to our Year 3 class—always rewarding to see technology being put to good use for learning!
The day was filled with admin tasks, including organizing Early Career Framework sessions for our early career teachers and preparing briefings for our Appropriate Body, both online and in-person formats. It feels good to know these details are falling into place to support our team.
When I returned home, there was a small but significant victory waiting for me—our replacement parking permit had finally arrived! This little piece of paper meant I could finally schedule the oven and tumble dryer repairs that we’ve been waiting on. I wasted no time and got the engineers booked for Monday, which conveniently aligns with a staff PD day, so I’ll be home to oversee it.
I wrapped up the evening by focusing on preparations for the upcoming referees association meeting for Durham County in February. I put together a PowerPoint presentation and wrote a script to ensure my ideas are communicated effectively. It’s exciting to think about the direction we’re heading as a team and the opportunities for growth and modernization.
All in all, it was a day of progress, planning, and small yet meaningful accomplishments—both at work and at home.
