“Unexpected moments are gifts, allowing me to grow, connect, and inspire others in new and meaningful ways.”
Hello all.
Some days don’t go as planned, but they often turn out better than expected. Today was one of those days.
I started my morning by waking the house and setting it in motion, a ritual I’ve grown to cherish as it sets the tone for the day. I then planned my day in front of my laptop, expecting to referee a football match in Stockton. However, at 10 AM, I received an email saying the pitch was frozen, and the match had been cancelled due to the bitter cold.
Instead of disappointment, I felt grateful for the unexpected time. With the house quiet while Juli took the kids to rugby training, I dived into a task I had been meaning to tackle for weeks: setting up the social media pages for this blog! Now, you can find us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), and plans are underway for Pinterest, LinkedIn, and TikTok. With the existing YouTube channel, this marks an exciting new chapter for reaching out, sharing stories, and encouraging others to be amazing.
After lunch, I took the opportunity to visit my mum. The icy weather had kept me away for weeks, so it was wonderful to catch up and see that her home was cozy and warm after the housing company serviced her boiler and radiators. We spent an hour chatting and combing her dog, sharing the kind of connection that reminds me how important it is to pause and nurture relationships.
Back home, I balanced productivity with relaxation. While listening to the Manchester United game (unfortunately not their finest hour), I created content for the next discussion on the Home Harmony Project. The focus will be on the importance of tackling your most important task first, and I’ve created some engaging videos to support the discussion.
The evening was all about family and fun. Fearne’s energy filled the living room as she danced, sang, and sketched, while Juli worked on her sewing machine. I indulged in the latest edition of the EDGE magazine, soaking up inspiration. Later, we enjoyed a cosy night watching Ski Sunday, which Fearne absolutely loved, followed by the gripping final of the Masters Snooker. Sadly, the same couldn’t be said for the Manchester United highlights on Match of the Day 2 – let’s hope they turn things around soon!
