"I embrace every task as an opportunity to create order, share joy, and nurture connections with those I love."
Hello all.
Yesterday, I took a break from refereeing and focused on getting the house back in order. While it was frustrating to see the lack of support from others, I’m grateful for the sense of accomplishment that comes from turning chaos into calm. Once the house was sorted, I had the chance to catch up on my blog entries and reflect on the past few days.
The day’s main task was resetting and refurbishing a collection of 40 laptops, iPads, and even an ancient Apple iMac from Fearne’s primary school. It was a lengthy process—some devices took an hour each to reset—but incredibly rewarding. By the end of the day, I managed to prepare 10 devices for reuse and identified another 10 for dismantling. I’m grateful for the opportunity to give these old devices new life and to repurpose parts for other projects.
While working on the laptops, I enjoyed watching the FA Cup Third Round match between Arsenal and Man Utd. The game was a nail-biter, with Man Utd winning on penalties thanks to an incredible performance by their goalkeeper. Sharing in the excitement of the game made the tedious task of resetting devices much more enjoyable.
Later, Fearne and I watched animal documentaries together—a lovely way to wind down and connect over her love of nature. In the evening, Juli and I ended the day with some well-deserved laughter, watching Cunk on Life on BBC iPlayer. It was just as hilarious as I remembered, and I loved sharing the experience with her.
Yesterday was a day of productivity, connection, and moments of joy, reminding me of the importance of finding balance and savouring the little things.
