Hello all.
Today was my mum’s birthday, and I am sure she won’t mind me sharing that she has officially levelled up to 5-9! This was her first birthday in her cosy bungalow, so my sister and I made it a priority to make her day as special as possible. Fearne was thrilled, as always, to visit Nana and, of course, indulge in some birthday cake.
The morning began with our usual routine of organizing the house, doing Wim Hof breathing, stretches, and exercise, all while planning our day. With everything set, we headed over to celebrate Mum’s big day.
By sheer coincidence, we arrived at the exact same time as my sister, her son, and her partner. It wasn’t planned, but it couldn’t have been more perfect. Mum was absolutely delighted to see everyone together, and Fearne was thrilled to have her cousin to play with. The two of them spent the entire visit either jumping on beds, running around the garden, or happily devouring cake.
Mum opened her presents first—a lovely scented candle, some books, a snuggly teddy bear from Fearne, and, of course, the all-important birthday cake. My sister surprised her with a Kindle Fire Stick, which turned out to be the ultimate gift. Mum loves watching the darts over Christmas, but due to a mix-up with her TV provider, she hadn’t been able to access her sports channels. With the Fire Stick, we quickly set up her Amazon account and a Now TV subscription for Sky Sports. Within half an hour, everything was working perfectly, and Mum was over the moon to have her holiday pastime back.
It was a job well done—everyone left happy, and we spent a few hours enjoying each other’s company, even sneaking in some darts before saying goodbye.
Back at home, Fearne transformed the living room into her own ‘gym,’ complete with dance equipment. She spent the rest of the day working out with an energy level that could put professional athletes to shame! I took the opportunity to work on fleshing out more ideas for The Legend of Skippy. Seeing years’ worth of concepts come together and imagining the potential of what this project could become is incredibly fulfilling.
We ended the day with pizza, baths, movies, and simply enjoying each other’s company—a perfect conclusion to a heartwarming day.
I’m deeply grateful for the moments we shared today, for family, and for the inspiration that comes from such special occasions.
