Monday 27th January 2025 - A Day of Progress and Reflection

"I welcome progress and meaningful connections, knowing each effort I make adds value to my life and others."

Hello all.

Today was a mix of challenges and accomplishments, and I’m ending it with a sense of gratitude for the progress made, both at home and at work.

The morning started on a frustrating note as I had to clean up after the weekend—a consequence of a relaxing Sunday leaving the house in a bit of disarray. It felt overwhelming to take on all the tidying up myself, so I had an important conversation with Juli and the rest of the household. I reminded everyone that keeping the house tidy is a shared responsibility. I hope this message will resonate and inspire better teamwork moving forward.

Once I got to work, the day took a brighter turn. This week marks the start of online testing for our Year 6 down to Year 3 classes. We kicked things off with the Year 4 students, who embraced the process with enthusiasm. It was lovely to see them enjoying the use of laptops and diving into their tests with focus. Their positive attitude set a great tone for the day.

While the students were busy with their tests, I had some tasks to attend to. Last week, I sent out a series of emails for the Teaching School Hub, and today, I was thrilled to find that most of the information I requested had come through. It’s always rewarding to see things fall into place after putting in the effort.

Another small but satisfying accomplishment was untangling and neatly organizing all the headphone cables around the school. It may seem like a minor task, but seeing everything orderly and tidy brought a sense of accomplishment.

After a productive day at work, I headed to my Freemasons Chapter meeting. This was my first opportunity to witness a ceremony in the Chapter, and it was an incredible experience. The tradition and meaning behind it left me feeling inspired and connected to something larger than myself.

By the time I got home, the rest of the house was already asleep, but I stayed up a little longer to work on two things close to my heart. First, I continued practicing my Charge of Initiation for my Masonic responsibilities. Second, I made progress on my Home Harmony Project posts, focusing on the importance of rest during the day—a theme that feels especially relevant after today’s mix of effort and reflection.

And Over at the Home Harmony Project, I wrote an article around "Why Taking Regular Breaks is Key to Your Productivity", which can be read here - https://www.homeharmonyproject.com/daily-boosts/why-taking-regular-breaks-is-key-to-your-productivity/
