Every moment with loved ones is a gift; cherish and celebrate the little joys.
Hello all.
Today marked the first day of my two-week break from work, and I was thrilled to spend it with my family. The energy in the house was contagious, starting with Fearne, who woke up early to set up a dance party in her bedroom. I told her that sounded fantastic, but suggested we ease into the day with a good routine.
We started with some Wim Hof Deep Breathing exercises, and then moved on to Acro Yoga—one of our favorite activities when we’re home together. Fearne was over the moon when we managed to pull off the Throne Pose, where I held her up by my feet while she sat proudly above me like a queen. We even managed to hold the pose for two minutes! After that success, we went all out with her dance party, laughing and enjoying every moment.
Around lunchtime, my sister, her son, and her partner arrived to drop off Christmas presents. It was such a joy to see her again! She lives in a village outside County Durham and works for Gateshead Council, so our meetups aren’t as frequent as I’d like. While we keep in touch through messages, nothing beats seeing family in person, especially during the holidays. We had a warm, lively chat about all sorts of things before they left for their next destination.
In the afternoon, Juli and Fearne went into town for some last-minute Christmas shopping while I stayed home to catch up on my blog. I’ve been so busy with work lately that I fell behind, but now I’m finally back on track!
The evening was all about quality time with Fearne while Juli attended her pantomime rehearsal. We played a board game called Labyrinth, where the challenge is to navigate a maze of shifting walls. It was so much fun! We capped off the night by watching Christmas shows together. It was a simple yet perfect day, full of love, laughter, and connection.
