I embrace balance in my life, allowing moments of work, play, and rest to harmonize and uplift my spirit.
Hello all.
Today felt refreshingly normal, and I’m so grateful for that. I set my alarm for 7 AM but ended up staying cozy in bed until 8 AM—blame it on the winter chill and the post-holiday lull. Once I got moving, it was time to tackle the house. I put the wheelie bin out for collection, cleaned the kitchen, threw in a load of laundry, and headed off to the post office to ship some items I sold through eBay Boosters.
The day unfolded with a rhythm I appreciated. Greyhound racing was in full swing, so I let AMAS run in the background, monitoring it briefly throughout the day to check on its progress. It seemed to perform well, but I’ll need to analyse the results later to confirm.
I listed a computer motherboard on eBay, which felt productive, and then spent a lovely couple of hours with Fearne. We read books and magazines, did some drawing and colouring, and laughed at some light hearted TV. It’s the simple moments that truly bring the most joy.
After lunch, Juli left for her pantomime rehearsal, and Fearne and I headed back to the park for more rollerblade practice. While yesterday she was gliding like a pro, today had a few more falls—but her determination was inspiring. I reminded her to take it one glide at a time, and soon she was back on track, enjoying the freedom of movement and the crisp air.
The rest of the day was filled with easy, relaxing activities. Fearne got to watch a movie while I caught up on emails and added the final batch of products to the TownHost website. I’m thrilled to say all the services are now listed! The next step is linking the pages, which I think will be a calmer and less overwhelming task. Reflecting on my past burnout as a web developer, I realize how crucial it is to maintain balance and set manageable goals. This time, I’m equipped to handle it all with steadiness.
The evening was filled with fun and connection. Fearne and I played Twister, which is not just a laugh but also a great way to stay active! Later, we relaxed as a family. Even though Fearne stayed up later than usual, we started watching the new season of Squid Game on Netflix (with strategic eye and ear covers for her during intense scenes).
As I reflect on the day, I feel a deep sense of gratitude for the moments of productivity, joy, and connection.
