Friday 20th December 2024 - The Final Day Before Christmas Break: A Busy and Rewarding Send-Off

I am capable of handling whatever challenges come my way, turning them into opportunities for growth and joy.

Hello all.

The last day of work before the much-anticipated two-week Christmas break was nothing short of eventful. It was a day filled with joy, productivity, and a few unexpected frustrations.

The day began with some crucial preparations to ensure everything was set for the holiday period. My first task was completing and scheduling a series of six Collective Worship videos, including a special one for Christmas Day. Each video required careful recording, editing, and scheduling across our social media platforms.

The Christmas Day video held particular significance for me. A single candle glows brightly in a sea of darkness, creating a powerful image of Jesus as the light of the world. Seeing that vision come to life left me with a profound sense of accomplishment.

After the morning’s editing marathon, it was time for the much-awaited School Christmas Dinner. Feeding 350 people within a tight 90-minute window might sound daunting, but the atmosphere made it all worthwhile.

I had the pleasure of sharing a lovely turkey dinner with students from various classes. Christmas music played softly in the background as we exchanged jokes and enjoyed each other's company. The younger kids found the cracker jokes absolutely hilarious—a reminder of the joy in simple things, even if the jokes are undeniably cheesy.

Post-lunch, I returned to uploading and scheduling the videos. Large files meant the process took a while, but by the end of the afternoon, everything was set and ready. With that, it was time to shut down the school for the holidays, tidy up, and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

December has been a whirlwind of festive activities at work. While it’s been tiring, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

The evening began with plans for relaxation: a bath, a Christmas movie, and family time. Unfortunately, those plans took a slight detour due to a frustrating issue with the tumble dryer. The engineer refused to fix it because we misplaced our parking permit. While it was disappointing, I reminded myself to embrace the season of goodwill.

I found an alternative solution by drying the wet clothes on the radiators, took a soothing bath, and let go of my frustration.

When I emerged from the bath, Fearne and Juli were already engrossed in Queer Eye on Netflix. Instead of a Christmas movie, I turned my focus to something equally important: my application for referee promotion.

With a strong observation score from the weekend, I finalized and submitted my application. Fingers crossed for good news in January!

To cap off the night, I stayed up a bit longer to fine-tune my Automated Market Analysis System. Everything is now set, and I’m ready to launch it tomorrow—a project that feels like a perfect blend of strategy and efficiency.

This day was a true reflection of the festive season: bustling, joyful, and full of surprises. Despite the hiccups, I ended the day with a sense of accomplishment and excitement for what’s to come, both during the holidays and in the new year.

The last day before a well-earned Christmas break was packed with creativity, connection, and a dash of chaos. Between producing special Collective Worship videos, sharing a festive meal with students, and tackling unexpected evening hiccups, I managed to embrace the true spirit of the season: joy, resilience, and gratitude.
