Wednesday 13th November 2024 - Celebrating Small Wins and Moving Forward

 Hello all,

Today, I’m feeling quite proud of what I managed to accomplish. The first big win of the day was successfully fitting the new screen into the iPad, and I’m thrilled to say it’s working perfectly now. It’s always a great feeling when you can fix something yourself and see it working again.

At work, my day was filled with a lot of organization and problem-solving. I spent some time cross-checking two lists of mentors for the appropriate body, making sure they were all properly registered for the right training courses. It’s a meticulous task, but one that’s necessary to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Later, I had to set up a writing exam for our Year 5 class, which was a bit of a time-sensitive task. I also worked on creating a new form for our nursery, updating the old one that was out of date and making it more modern. The new form will be more useful for parents when they enroll their children, so it felt good to give it a refresh.

I also helped the school receptionist by fitting an intercom at the main entrance, so she could hear people more clearly. It’s those small improvements that make a big difference in day-to-day operations.

Another exciting development today was hearing that the Parish Council for the Headland has officially registered their .gov.uk domain. The nameserver for the domain was pointed to my server, so I can now start working on that project. It’s always rewarding to see projects like this progress and knowing that I’m helping to set up something that will benefit the community.

In the midst of all of that, I had an NPQLTD online session to organize, and I’m happy to report that it went off without a hitch. I’ve also been noticing that the records for the teaching school hub are becoming more complicated, so I’ve taken it upon myself to create a dedicated database to help manage all of this information going forward. It’s a big task, but it will save a lot of time and effort in the future.

After work, I attended my monthly Freemasons meeting. It was fantastic to see everyone again, and we had a potential new member join us for the meal after our ceremony. Fingers crossed, they liked what they saw and will be joining us soon. It’s always a pleasure to meet new people and welcome them into the fold.

To top off my day, I spent an extra hour finishing up the schedule for the Home Harmony Project. I had a few more new ideas that I wanted to incorporate, so it felt great to be able to finalize that and get everything set for the next phase of the project.

It’s been one of those days where small wins have built up to a sense of accomplishment, and I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made. Now it’s time to look forward to what comes next and continue moving forward, one step at a time.
