Tuesday 19th November 2024 - A Day of Focus and Catching Up

 Hello all.

Today was a productive and reflective day, one filled with gratitude for the moments I could share with Fearne and the chance to make real progress in my work.

With Juli still in Scotland, I had the privilege of taking Fearne to school again this morning. I always enjoy these moments with her, a small reminder to appreciate the little things in life.

At work, I found myself with the office entirely to myself. Everyone else was attending a meeting in Newcastle, which gave me the perfect opportunity to fully immerse myself in building the Hub database. It was a big day for progress—locking the system down so that only logged-in users could access it. It felt rewarding to focus without interruptions, and I could feel the momentum building on this long-term project.

The afternoon brought a change of pace as I picked Fearne up from school at 3:15 PM and took her to her dancing class. While she danced, I took advantage of the downtime to continue working on the database. These uninterrupted hours were a blessing and let me keep my productivity high.

Kieron kindly stepped in to make dinner tonight—chicken nuggets, a simple but appreciated meal. It’s always nice when someone else takes on a task and gives me a moment to breathe.

Once Fearne came home and settled for the evening, I closed the laptop and spent quality time with her. After she fell asleep, I turned my attention to something I’d been neglecting—my blog. It felt good to catch up on two weeks' worth of posts, revisiting everything that has happened and putting it all into words.

By the time I finally went to bed around midnight, I felt a deep sense of accomplishment. From meaningful work to precious family time, today was a day well spent.
