Thursday 14th November 2024 - A Day of Productivity and Small Wins

 Hello all,

Today was one of those days where the little things added up to a truly productive and fulfilling experience. It started off a bit later than usual, as I slept in for an extra 15 minutes, waking up at 7:15 AM. It was a nice change to be able to drop Fearne off at school myself, especially since Juli had to leave early for a work conference. It’s the small moments like these that make the day feel just a little bit more special.

At work, we had a hub staff meeting that went on for two hours. It was a great session, though, and very productive. We came up with lots of little ideas that will help us become more efficient, and I’m pleased to say that the idea of me building a brand-new database for the hub was well received. It feels good to be taking on a project that will have such a big impact on our work.

During the day, I took care of another task that’s been on my to-do list: printing off all of the recipes for the school kitchen staff. Now, they have a physical copy of every single recipe for every meal they’ll ever prepare for the kids. It might seem like a small thing, but it’s an essential step in helping the kitchen staff stay organized and make sure the kids get the right meals.

The iPads I had fixed a few days ago were finally returned and were working perfectly. It’s always such a satisfying moment when you see a job well done come to fruition.

I spent most of the afternoon working on the quality assurance visit spreadsheet, making sure the correct schools were assigned to the right members of staff. It was a task that required focus and attention to detail, but it was rewarding to get it all updated and organized.

As if that wasn’t enough, it was also the second day of the NPQLTD online course, and there was an ECF meeting taking place in the school at the same time. I found myself juggling two sessions—one online and one in-person—but I’m happy to say that both went really well. It was a bit of a balancing act, but the sense of accomplishment at the end of the day made it all worth it.

On my way home, I stopped at a local shop to pick up a plunger to unblock a sink, and I also fitted a brand-new toilet roll holder at home. Additionally, I upgraded the memory in a computer I was setting up for someone for Christmas, increasing it from 16GB to 32GB. It’s always satisfying to take care of those little home improvement projects, especially when they make life just a little bit easier.

All in all, it was a very productive day. I was able to accomplish a wide range of tasks, from work projects to home improvements, and it feels great to know that I made progress in so many areas.
