Hello all,
Today didn’t go quite as planned, and it’s safe to say it was one of those days that tested my patience. I woke up feeling fine, but things took a turn when I walked into the school office and the smell of coffee hit me. Suddenly, I was hit with a headache that lingered throughout the day. I’m sure it was a combination of being on my screen for long hours, being incredibly busy all week, and just running on empty. In hindsight, I realize that I had probably worn myself down without giving myself the proper time to rest.
The headache really threw off my day. It made focusing on anything incredibly difficult, and I struggled to get through most of the tasks I had set out to do. I spent a lot of time trying to control my breathing, finding moments to just relax, and giving myself permission to take a break when needed. It’s always hard to accept that not every day will be productive, but it’s important to listen to our bodies when they tell us to slow down.
By mid-afternoon, I was able to take a short walk, and it worked wonders. The fresh air and a change of scenery helped clear my mind, and I felt like I could finally take a breath again. While I wasn’t back to 100%, I was functional enough to make some progress on the new hub database I’m developing. I spent some time working out the relationships between the separate tables, which, while slow, was a productive way to end the day.
The evening was a bit slow too, but I made sure to double-check the schedule for the Home Harmony project, just to make sure I was happy with everything. Thankfully, I felt confident about it before heading straight to bed to rest and recover for tomorrow.
Days like this can be frustrating, but they’re also a reminder to take care of ourselves. It’s okay to step back when we need to, and sometimes, finding that moment of calm can make all the difference.
