Wednesday 30th October 2024 - The Home Harmony Project

 Hello all.

Today began with a bit of an unexpected twist. Our greyhound decided to adopt one of Fearne’s teddies as her “baby,” making a little den under my desk and fiercely defending it! She growled if I got too close, clearly in full “protective mother” mode. I ended up calling Juli to come back home to help coax her out so I could start the day. Greyhounds certainly have their quirky moments, and I’m hopeful she’ll be back to her usual sweet self in a few days.

With that little adventure behind me, I finally got to tackle the day’s tasks. First on the list was taking an old chest of drawers, which I’d disassembled earlier in the week, to the recycling center in Hartlepool. Getting rid of it cleared some much-needed space in the house, a small but satisfying win. Then, I had a brief meeting at Headland Parish Council to help them set up a gov.uk domain. Fearne came along and was wonderfully patient during the meeting, and afterward, we spent a lovely afternoon exploring the Headland, enjoying the play areas, and indulging in a delicious fish and chips lunch at The Duke of Cleveland pub. Right as we were eating, I got the great news that the parish council’s domain registration was successful—an added bit of accomplishment to the day.

Once back home, Fearne and I relaxed with the 2010 version of The Karate Kid, which we both really enjoyed. Later, when Fearne headed to her dance class, I settled into planning my lifestyle project, refining ideas for a new website. Although “Home Harmony Hub” was taken (and far too expensive to purchase!), a little brainstorming led me to a new name: The Home Harmony Project. I think “project” perfectly captures the ongoing, supportive journey I want to create for others. The .com domain was available, and I couldn’t resist diving into design ideas right away.

I probably stayed up a bit later than I should have, caught up in the excitement of building this new venture. Tomorrow, I’ll ease back into my routine to stay focused and at my best for what lies ahead. Feeling grateful for another day of both progress and connection.
