Hello all,
Today brought a renewed sense of gratitude as I managed to stick to my morning routine and bike to work, arriving on time and ready to dive into a busy day. My schedule was filled with online meetings – from an appropriate body meeting to a staff gathering and a governors' discussion. Each went smoothly, and I'm pleased with how productively we moved through each agenda.
One significant update was our school’s decision to cancel our subscription to Purple Mash, a website we had initially used to support students’ homework. Usage had dwindled recently, making it an easy decision, and I was tasked with sending the final email to end the service.
After three solid days of data work for a colleague who recently moved to Cyprus, I’m thrilled to report that I finished backing up her information today. I’ve managed to retrieve over 1.5 terabytes of data and just need to find a durable enough hard drive to transport it safely. Knowing this task is completed and seeing my desk finally cleared brings a great sense of relief and clarity.
Leaving school early allowed me to attend Fearne’s parent consultation at her school, and I couldn’t be more proud! She’s excelling in both phonics and math, placing her at the top of her class. Though she occasionally daydreams, it doesn’t hinder her learning; hearing such positive feedback is incredibly heart-warming.
Later, I reintroduced a habit I had let slip: taking our dog for an evening walk. Her excitement made it clear that it’s been a while, and her enthusiasm led to a few barks and jumps. It wasn’t the calmest walk, but with time and consistency, I’m hopeful she’ll settle back into a routine.
To cap off the day, I took photos of Fearne’s large dollhouse, which she no longer plays with, and posted it on Facebook Marketplace. While it would have been nice to feature it on my eBay Boosters service, I feel it will likely find a new home more easily on Facebook. Hopefully, it sells quickly, giving us a bit of extra space in Fearne’s room.
Feeling deeply grateful for today’s accomplishments and the chance to keep building on these routines.
