Wednesday 16th October - Getting Damp, Building and Fitting Things

 Hello all,

Today was another busy but fulfilling day, and I’m grateful for all that I accomplished despite the challenges. The day started with refitting the CCTV camera that I had been working on. It was pouring rain, but with some ladders, screwdrivers, and perseverance, we managed to fit the camera safely. There’s always something satisfying about completing a task, especially under difficult conditions, and the rain only made that feeling stronger.

After the CCTV was done, I switched gears to something more creative—putting together a PowerPoint for a small TV in the school that showcased the children having fun while learning. Seeing their smiles and enthusiasm was a wonderful reminder of the joy that education brings to young minds. I’m grateful for the chance to play a part in highlighting these moments.

The day continued with another big task—building the second storage container for the School Nursery. It took four hours, and by the end, I was a little soggy from the light rain and the damp ground. But once it was built, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment. I always appreciate the physicality of building something that will be useful for others, even if the weather wasn’t on my side.

The afternoon brought a shift in focus. I ran an online meeting for the Appropriate Body and marked the attendance. It’s a different kind of challenge, but I’m glad to contribute and keep things running smoothly.

Coming home was a real treat after a long day. I made a healthy Chicken Parmo for tea, and it was a hit with everyone. There’s something special about seeing empty plates after a good meal—it’s the ultimate sign of appreciation.

In the evening, we settled down to watch The Repair Shop and Grand Designs, two shows that always inspire creativity and appreciation for craftsmanship. After everyone had gone to bed, I spent an hour tidying up the house. I enjoyed the quiet time, especially since I had found and charged up my old iPod. Listening to some of my favourite music while cleaning was such a peaceful way to wind down the day.

I’ll admit, my routine has slipped a little lately due to distractions like TV and procrastination, but I’m aware of it and ready to get back on track tomorrow. My routine is perfect when I follow it, and I’m grateful for the structure it gives me. Tomorrow is a new day, and I look forward to making the most of it.
