Saturday 19th October 2024 - Refereeing in Darlington

 Hello all.

I’m grateful for a slower start to my Saturday, as I allowed myself a well-deserved sleep-in, waking up at 8:30 instead of my usual 7:00. After breakfast, I indulged in a little relaxation, watching a few YouTube videos about setting up my next business idea—an eBay business helping people sell their items. I realize that it’s not always productive to start the day with YouTube, especially when there are more pressing tasks to attend to, but I’ll be more mindful of this moving forward.

There was a minor issue with the trim on my front door, so I took the chance to polish it up and fix the loose trim with some super glue. After securing it in place with tape to let it cure, I felt satisfied with the refreshed look of the door. That task took me through the morning and right up to lunchtime.

In the afternoon, I headed out to Darlington to referee a football match at the Railway Association. I was an assistant referee this time, and while the match wasn’t particularly thrilling due to the sloppy pitch conditions, it was good to get out and keep my fitness in check.

On the way back, I stopped at Home Bargains to pick up some carpet cleaner as part of my ongoing house cleaning routine. With the cleaner in hand, I’m one step closer to removing those last few stains in the carpet that have been bothering me.

The evening was all about recovery and self-care. I treated myself to a soothing Epsom salt bath, followed by some meditation and icing my knees, preparing for tomorrow’s football match in Durham. The ice packs helped ease the usual stiffness, and I’m feeling good about the game tomorrow.

I also dedicated some time to thinking more deeply about my eBay business idea. I began formulating a plan, designing a logo, and mapping out my next steps. I’m excited about what’s ahead and will use tomorrow morning to start setting everything in motion.
